Video – Parents launch fight to reinstate Educating Greater Manchester school’s suspended headteacher who quit over ‘personal vendetta’

Parents of pupils from Harrop Fold have vowed to continue their fight to get the charismatic headteacher from Educating Greater Manchester back at the school. The Daily Mail reports

Drew Povey, 40, resigned last week citing that the council had a ‘personal vendetta’ against him, following his suspension in July.

However campaigners determined to reinstate Mr Povey are meeting on Thursday to put together a plan to get him back to work, reports the MEN.

It is not just the parents that are desperate for the return of the headteacher, pupils at the school are also part of the campaign.

The children have made a short film in support of Mr Povey, which was posted online and includes individual messages from those who have been inspired by his example.

While he said he took full responsibility for the errors, he claimed he had been unfairly pursued.

He also claimed the council had previously offered him money to ‘walk away’.
