University staff across the region set to strike

ITV is reporting that university staff across the region are set to walk out over four weeks due to issues with pay, working conditions and rising pension costs.

From Thursday 20 February until Friday 13 March strikes will escalate leading to a week-long walkout from Monday 9 March until Friday 13 March.

Union members will also be undertaking “action short of a strike”. This involves not working strictly to contract, not covering for absent colleagues and refusing to reschedule lectures lost to strike action.
