Today’s poll: Should practical work count towards grades in science A levels?

In a letter to The Times today scientists, engineers and business leaders say that the move will produce a generation of scientists unable to apply their knowledge in laboratories or fieldwork. They appeal for support to force the exam regulator to reverse the decision. Do you agree?

  3. Yes but there are different ways of doing it. I’d make basic experimental competence a fundamental that has to be evidenced through coursework as a qualifier to take the exam.
