Teacher who had sex with her former pupil is banned indefinitely

The Derby Telegraph is reporting that a teacher who indulged in an inappropriate relationship with a 17-year-old pupil, which later led to sex, has been banned from teaching indefinitely…

The ban follows a disciplinary panel finding that Joanne Clarke, 33, was guilty of “unacceptable professional conduct” whilst employed at Friesland School in Sandiacre.

The National Council for Teaching and Leadership panel’s findings, which identify the pupil concerned only as pupil A, said: “Ms Clarke’s relationship with pupil A was inappropriate as it went beyond the professional boundaries of an appropriate pupil/teacher relationship.

“Although the relationship became sexual when pupil A had turned 18 and was no longer a pupil of the school, the relationship itself had begun when he was 17.”

The panel also found that the inappropriate relationship with pupil A at age 17 was sexually motivated…
