Teacher who discussed threesome with student and his cousin on Facebook banned

The Mirror is reporting that a teacher who discussed a threesome with a student and his cousin on Facebook has been banned from the classroom for five years.

Richard Day met the 16-year-old student, named only as Student A, while teaching at the Erasmus Darwin Academy in Burntwood, Staffordshire.

He befriended the boy on Facebook after leaving the school to join the Nunnery Wood High School in Worcester… to give him support, the National College of Teaching heard.

But their messages quickly took a sexual turn, with Day enquiring about the boy’s sexual experiences.

They exchanged dozens of inappropriate messages between December 2012 and December 2013…

Striking him off from the profession for a minimum of five years, Panel Chair Alison Robb-Webb described Day’s behaviour as ‘wholly inappropriate and sexually motivated’…
