Seven schools hit by new round of bomb hoaxes

The Birmingham Mail is reporting that seven schools in Birmingham and the Black Country have been targeted in another series of bomb hoaxes.

The calls were made from around 8am on Monday.

Schools affected were Leasowes High School, Dudley ; Holly Lodge Foundation High, Oldbury Academy and Perryfields High Schools in Sandwell ; Edgbaston High School for Girls , King David and Kind Edwards Boys Schools in Birmingham.

Some of the schools were temporarily evacuated while calls were assessed by the West Midlands Police specialist intelligence cell and counter terrorism experts.

Experts found there was no credibility to the threats which are believed to be linked to previous hoax alerts in the last three weeks…

Parents are urged not to call the police for updates nor should they attend the school unless specifically asked to by staff.
