School makes minor change to uniform – forcing parents to buy expensive replacement

The Mirror reports that a large secondary school has decided to implement a small change to its uniform, and it could cost parents hundreds.

Parents are worried that the change will leave them out of pocket given that they’ll now have to purchase the same clothing items for a second time. Those with more than one child attending will be especially affected.

“We notice when people look smart and the way that we wear our uniform is a clear message to everyone that we care about ourselves in this manner.

The letter, which notes that the changes to the school uniforms are minor, also explains that parents who buy the new clothing between April 10-22 will be given a ten per cent discount. But the actual cost of the new uniform wasn’t revealed.

“This will make no difference to their academic ability, it’s more inconvenience and pressure on families.”
