Police investigate stabbing on school bus

The Western Morning News is reporting that police are investigating the reported stabbing of a 14 year-old boy by another pupil on a school bus in Somerset.

The incident took place on the journey home when the teenager was allegedly stabbed in the thigh with a penknife.

An ambulance was called and paramedics alerted police as the injured lad was taken to hospital from the scene in the sleeping Somerset village of Winscombe.

It is understood the incident involved two pupils from Kings of Wessex Academy secondary school.

The school said: “We are aware that an incident involving two students took place on a bus last Friday evening.

“The academy enforces a strict behaviour policy and has high expectations for all students.

“In response to this incident the academy has taken prompt and appropriate action in accordance with academy policies and procedures.”

Avon and Somerset Police confirmed an investigation into the incident was ongoing…
