Person in clown mask stalking terrified schoolchildren revealed to be 18-year-old girl

The Mirror is reporting that a person who has been terrifying school children by approaching them wearing a clown mask has been revealed as an 18-year-old girl.

Schools in Tonbridge in Kent issued warnings after frightened pupils reported being stalked by the terrifying figure.

But how Kent Police have revealed the person behind the eerie prank was an 18-year-old girl.

Police said she admitted being the person behind the mask who had been coming up to people in Hectorage Road and High Street, Tonbridge.

There have been no further reports since October 14 and it has been established that there was no malicious intent.

Tunbridge Wells Chief Inspector Dave Pate said: “Most reports of people wearing masks can be explained as part of the run up to Halloween and Bonfire night.

“Whilst it’s not unusual for people to be wearing fancy dress, including masks, I would warn everyone to celebrate responsibly and not do anything which may cause alarm, distress of fear to others.”

He also stressed that there is no link between the reported suspicious incidents involving vans in Tunbridge Wells and the clown incidents in Tonbridge…
