The Mail is reporting that a married RE teacher has been found guilty of having sex with a teenage pupil in empty classrooms and cleaning cupboards at a school in south east London…

Stuart Kerner, 44, from Aylesford, Kent, also had sex with the 16-year-old girl at his home during their illicit affair.

Jurors had heard how Kerner took the girl’s virginity on a yoga mat in an empty room at Bexleyheath Academy the same week his wife miscarried their second child.

Inner London Crown Court had heard that what started out as a schoolgirl crush turned into a full-blown affair that was eventually discovered in 2013.

Father-of-one Kerner, whose wife was by his side at court throughout the trial, appeared stunned as the verdict was announced.

His wife left the room and screamed in anguish as the jury delivered its verdict. He now faces jail when he is sentenced in January.

The jury of six men and six women took six hours and 11 minutes to reach their verdicts.

Kerner was found guilty on two counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust. They were both majority verdicts of 11-1 and 10-2.

He was found not guilty on four counts of the same offence and two counts of sexual activity with a child.

He had denied all charges…
