Labour promises high-quality youth services for every teenager in England

All teenagers will be guaranteed access to youth services by Labour which is warning that exam pressures, mental health problems and rising knife crime are putting unprecedented pressure on young people. iNews reports.

Jeremy Corbyn will announce plans to provide all 11 to 19 year-olds with activities out of the classroom and to recruit youth workers across the country.

According to Labour analysis, more than 750 youth centres have shut because of “alarming” spending cuts of £1bn over the last decade.

Mr Corbyn will say:“We need local youth services across the whole country. We need services that can meet the complex challenges faced by young people today. We need services that will nurture and empower young people to improve their own lives.”
