This is just a quick post to wish all of our readers a very Merry Christmas. We will be returning on January 6, refreshed, refuelled and ready for another news-filled year.
It’s been an incredibly busy year for the education sector with Damian Hinds handing out ‘little extras’ whilst schools fight off their increasing lack of funding, pupils being off-rolled as never before and social media once again playing a big part in child mental health.
We’ve seen Brexit play a major part in teacher recruitment and retention and what impact it will have in higher education is still anyone’s guess. Exam stress, SATs, essay mills, degree grade inflation and vice chancellors pay will continue to be news into 2019 as will the continuing march of the EBacc over vocational subjects.
So we’re taking a break for the the festive period, and we wish you all a very peaceful Christmas. We’ll return in the New Year, at about the same time you are returning to your desks.
With best wishes from all at Schools Improvement and Edukit.
