Fred Talbot rearrested over sex abuse allegations at boys’ school

The Telegraph is reporting that TV weatherman Fred Talbot has been re-arrested by police investigating historic sexual abuse allegations at a boys’ school…

Police said the 63-year-old, best known for appearing on a floating weather map for ITV’s This Morning, was held on suspicion of indecent assaults and buggery against five former pupils at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys.

Talbot, a former teacher at the school, was originally arrested in April over allegations of indecent assault and inciting a child to commit gross indecency involving four other pupils.

He remains on police bail in relation to one count of indecent assault. No further action has been taken in relation to the other allegations.

Talbot, from Bowdon, near Altrincham, Cheshire, was also held on suspicion of indecent assault in relation to alleged offences carried out at schools in the North East.

It’s understood he worked at several schools in the area early on in his teaching career.

All the alleged offences took place in the 1970s and 1980s.

Talbot was re-arrested today after answering police bail and he remains in custody for questioning by detectives…
