Coronavirus: Could Covid-19 end GCSEs forever?

The consequences of the coronavirus outbreak for the exams system could stretch well beyond this year’s makeshift solution, writes William Stewart for TES

“Exams will not take place as planned in May and June, though we will make sure that pupils get the qualifications they need and deserve for their academic career.”


The Prime Minister had little more to say than that on GCSEs and A levels when he dropped his bombshell on Wednesday. And it is abundantly clear why.
