Birmingham private school music teacher jailed following sex abuse of male pupils

The Metro is reporting that a music teacher has been jailed for more than three years after he admitted sexually assaulting teenage boys while covertly filming the attacks…

Philip Evans, 38, spent four years secretly capturing indecent images of male pupils within the changing rooms of King Edward’s School in Edgbaston, Birmingham.

He also filmed the sexual assaults of seven teenage boys – attacks he carried out while pretending to measure them.

Police raided Evans’ home in August after receiving intelligence about the downloading of indecent images.

Birmingham Crown Court heard how during this raid officers found an indecent photograph of a sleeping boy, which led to Evans’ arrest.

Officers discovered 350,000 indecent images on his computer in addition to 100 recordings of pupils in changing rooms.

One of the cameras had been attached to a bench inside a bathroom during a school trip.

Evans – who had also been an RAF leader in the Combined Cadet Force at the school – pleaded guilty to six counts of voyeurism, seven of sexual assault, and nine relating to possession of indecent images…
