53-year old teacher told schoolgirl he wanted to get her drunk and ‘tuck her up in bed’

The Mirror is reporting that a teacher who told a sixth form schoolgirl that he would love to get her “p***ed and tuck her up in bed” alongside a series of other inappropriate messages has been banned from teaching…

Colin Ward bombarded the girl, who was described as “vulnerable”, with more than 150 texts in just a matter of days – later admitting that his messages were “sexually motivated”.

The 53-year-old, who had taught at East Norfolk Sixth Form College, Gorleston, for 20 years and had risen to the position of head of chemistry, described the girl as “beautiful”, and without the permission of the school had given her a lift in his car.

On another occasion he attempted to meet her outside the school.

In a series of inappropriate texts, he told her: “I really wish I could hug you right now.”

In another, her said it was “very tempting to take you for a drink get you pissed and tuck you up in bed”…

A professional conduct panel of the National College for Teaching and Leadership found him guilty of unacceptable professional conduct and conduct that may bring the profession into disrepute at a private hearing in Coventry…

Not questioning the ban, but a 53-year-old man who behaves like this with a 16-year old girl sounds like he needs some help too.
