Yesterday was hard. Really hard. The first few weeks back after the Christmas holiday had been relatively calm. The majority of our children seem relieved to be back in the safe confines of the school and they’re enjoying getting back into the swing of their learning. 5 year old is expelled from school for stealing, vandalism and kicking teacher in the face

A five-year-old boy who stole apples, threw counting beads around and attacked pupils and staff has been expelled – for kicking his teacher in the face. Logan Steed was kicked out of Powers Hall Infant School in Witham, Essex, after being suspended four times in his first year for hitting, biting and punching pupils and staff. This is from the Daily Mail…

He was told not to come back after teachers tried every disciplinary method they could come up with – even disrupting the class by evacuating every other child when Logan caused trouble. (more…)

 

Ofsted inspectors say revamped Bristol primary school not up to scratch

From This Is Bristol reports a primary school and nursery which opened two years ago and benefited from a multi-million pound refurbishment is failing, according to the government’s education watchdog.

Long Cross Primary and Nursery School in Lawrence Weston formed in September 2010 from the amalgamation of the former Weston Park Primary and Bluebell Valley Nursery. (more…)

 

Edgewood shrugs off label of failing school with glowing Ofsted report

The Hucknall Dispatch is reporting that Edgewood Primary and Nursery School is celebrating a remarkable turn-round in less than a year and a half.

The school, on Edgewood Drive, plumbed the depths when it was placed in Special Measures in February last year amid a report that declared it wasn’t providing an acceptable quality of education to pupils. (more…)
